We use Zoom for all of our online music lessons. Your music is also selected specifically for you! Over the course of 16 years, we have crafted a curriculum that is unlike any other and is specifically designed to be adapted to each individual student. Your lessons will be personal and tailored to you or your child’s individual learning style. The main advantage of working with a live instructor in your online lessons is that your teacher can give you feedback in the moment about what you can do to get better faster. What is the difference between online lessons with a live instructor and other forms of online learning such as YouTube videos? Check out an example of an online lesson on our Facebook page here. This can be especially beneficial for students under the age of 7 and is a great way to bond as a family. This can dramatically improve your home practice and fast-track your progress! For younger children, a parent can sit in on the lesson so that your teacher can demonstrate fun activities that you and your child can repeat every day.
Your teacher will also be able to observe your at-home practice set-up and catch any potential problems that may be hindering your technique. They will also share exciting new exercises and pieces to practice at home. Your teacher will demonstrate new techniques and help you learn new pieces. Your teacher will prepare an exciting lesson plan that takes advantage of fun music technology and online music. While in many ways your online private lesson will be the same as a traditional in-person lesson, there are many unique advantages to taking an online lesson. What can I expect from an online private lesson? I am very happy that I can see everyone's face and have a music class with you all. "This app saved my life because I was missing school, missing everybody I know, it was so boring just staying at home, doing the same thing every day. We are grateful for the distance learning of the past year, and excited Orpheus is providing a way for all their students to be able to continue with their music during these uncertain times." It is a wonderful way to have a lesson and has been critical in being able to continue lessons for our children, stay connected to their teachers and their music. "Stephen and Valeria have been providing for our family for some time. The whole family got to be involved and it was fun!" I’m not sure if it was the technology component or the clever tools used by the teacher, but my son was able to stay engaged more than he even does in some of his in-person lessons! An added bonus was that our teacher was able to see some adjustments we needed to make with our home set-up to ensure our son had the appropriate position with his guitar. It was surprisingly efficient and felt so relaxed in the comfort of our home. What Families Have to Say "We just had our first “virtual” lesson for guitar with our 4-year old son.
